Skyddskläder

Skyddskläder behövs i många yrken från arbeten i kylrum till brandbekämpning. Andra exempel är skyddskläder för god synbarhet vid vägarbeten, för kemikalieskydd liksom överlevnadsdräkter och dykardräkter för marin miljö och för olika typer av sportutövning. Den svenska kommitténs syfte är att bevaka och påverka fortsatt utveckling av både europeiska harmoniserade standarder inom området och internationella standarder.

Kommittén arbetar både med standarder för yrkesbruk, som varselkläder, kemskydd, knäskydd och liknande, och skydd för fritidsbruk, som sportskydd och flytvästar. Standarderna som utarbetas inom kommittén används vid typprovning och CE-märkning enligt PPE förordningen om personlig skyddsutrustning.

Sverige är globalt sett en ledande aktör inom skyddsklädessegmentet och vi lämnar därför viktiga bidrag vid utarbetandet av dessa standarder så att skyddsfunktionerna blir säkra och samtidigt tar till vara svenska intressen.

Financing

Arbetet styrs och finansieras av de organisationer som deltar i kommittén. Projektavgiften beror på arbetsform och omfattning, samt antal deltagare.

Påverka nationellt och internationellt

Kommittén skapar ett forum för svenskt agerande i den europeiska standardiseringen, genom att aktivt medverka i den europeiska standardiseringsorganisationen CEN. Standardisering av personlig skyddsutrustning (PSU) pågår i huvudsak inom CEN, och i begränsad omfattning även globalt inom ISO. Standardiseringen av PSU för yrkesverksamhet i Europa har sin grund i fastställandet av ett direktiv för PSU. Eftersom standarderna är kopplade till EU-direktivet, underlättar dessa vid både tillverkning, inköp och användande av produkterna. Standardiseringsarbetet säkerställer därmed att produkterna tillverkas efter samstämmiga krav, som exempelvis föreskrivare kan hänvisa till redan i anbudsskedet. Ett arbete som skapar fri rörlighet och konkurrens av produkter mellan länder, vilket stödjer den svenska exportmarknaden.

Kommittén arbetar exempelvis med europeiska standarder som innehåller fordringar, provningsmetoder, krav på hur produkten ska märkas utöver CE-märkning samt med vad som skall finnas med i tillverkarens bruksanvisning.

I kommittén samlas expertkunskap genom representanter från tillverkare, föreskrivare, köpare, brukare eller övriga inom branschen. Standardiseringsarbetet ger deltagarna djupare insikt om standardernas krav och hur man resonerar kring dessa, vilket underlättar vid diskussion med olika parter inom branschen. Deltagarna är samtidigt med och påverkar framtidens standarder, vilket också leder till nya insikter och tidig information som kan omsättas i den egna verksamhetsutvecklingen.
